Lip Augmentation Experience: Would I Do It Again?
I don’t live with too much regret. I say it is better to regret something you have done, than to regret something you have not. At least you tried and at least you know what it is like.
Would I go through some of the procedures or try some of the products I have in the past? No, not if I had to do it over. But, usually if I can go away from an experience with the knowledge to help another, it is worth it to me in some form. I have to admit I regret the lipo in the saddlebag area and the severe brow lift, but the lip procedures I have had did not have long-lasting negative effects.
Gore-Tex Lip Augmentation: My Experience
I have always liked really full lips. I feel it makes the face look more youthful, and more attractive overall. After my rhinoplasty, I really felt the need for fuller lips. Granted, I had always found fuller lips attractive, but now that I had a taste of plastic surgery, I wasn’t afraid. It is true, once you get one or two procedures; the others (and your desire to have them) come a lot easier. I was on a mission…
I made a consultation with my doc after having had collagen injections a few times. I was curious as to what my options were for something more permanent. I was against silicone injections at the time, as was he. But I was tired of wasting money that I did not have to burn on collagen.
I went for a consultation and my surgeon mentioned Gore-Tex Lip Implants. I had never heard of using Gore-Tex for this application. The truth is, I had not heard of it because the technical term was expanded polytetrafluoroethylene, or e-PTFE. ePTFE is a substance used by Gore Technologies for boot and jacket liners, and when used for this application it is referred to as Gore-Tex as is the brand name. Well, Gore also has a medical device line and the brand name for this particular product is Gore S.A.M. (Soft Augmentation Material).
Off to Switzerland...
…so I can be depressed standing next to beautiful, tall, blond chicks with great skin. Actually I’m going skydiving in Interlaken and won’t care what the other chicks look like. I’ll be too busy looking at my altimeter because some of the mountains are actually higher than my exit altitude. Freaky.
I’ll be back October 4th. I know it’s a long way to travel to go skydiving, but my boyfriend is BASE jumping out there and I am off to meet up with him and drool all over the fact that I cannot step off the Eiger—YET. I guess I will have to settle for a plane. It’s gonna to be freezing at 13 grand!
Wish for me blue skies and soft openings,
M
Lip Enhancement Choices: Lip Injections
So you want fuller lips, but are afraid of the risks. As you should be. Everything you do has risks: drinking too much water, walking across your kitchen, driving to the store, pumping foreign products into your lips for the sake of vanity. C’est la vie!
· The most basic of risks of lip augmentation is infection. It’s not all that common, but it happens. Make sure your doc uses an alcohol prep swab to reduce your risk. Also, and I know some may not agree, if you have plaque issues and bleeding gums, anaerobic bacteria can enter into your blood stream and cause an infection. If it can happen with implants, free-silicone and polyacrylamide (Aquamid, Bio-Alcamid) injections, it can happen with Radiesse, lip collagen and other lip injection fillers.
Collagen Injections For Fuller Lips: My First Experience
I feel like I am talking about my first VCR. I am not old enough to have personally owned an 8-track player, but this is pretty comparable. I might as well say, “When I was younger we had to bring our own cow to the surgeon’s office before collegen injection!” That being said, let’s reminisce…
Once upon a time, I had virgin lips. And trust me, I hated it. I wanted Pamela Anderson lips and paid a little visit to my plastic surgeon’s office. We discussed temporary options before moving on to semi-permanent ones. Semi-permanent meaning they were permanent until you took them out. This was before the existence of the longer-lasting products today. I told you, we were in the days when VCRs still walked the earth.
