Restylane vs Botox

I love Restylane! I have used it for my lips, nasolabial folds, under eyes (tear trough) and left upper eyelid with much success. I like it because it allows you to ‘try on’ a filler without making a permanent commitment. It is affordable, safe and a little bit goes a long way. The best part about Restylane treatments is that I have found that its effects have lasted longer and longer as I have used it. In fact, I have only needed one treatment for my upper lid—two years later, the result is still there.

Women Injected With Unknown Substance in a Southern California Salon

surgeonsyringedropshadow.jpg

First off, please please, PLEASE do not get injected with anything in the back of a salon, mall spa, someone’s home, or any other back alley operation by some unknown “doctor” or physician’s assistant. I can’t even tell you how many people I know of who have done this (mostly silicone). The cost should truly not be a determining factor unless one plastic surgeon is charging you twice as much as the other and they are equally skilled. But slinking off to your friendly neighborhood cosmetic chop-shop is not a good environment for you to be getting injected with unknown substances no matter how cheap it is.

injection_dropshadow.jpgI know a lot of you have probably heard at least one report on the recent deaths of several children after receiving injections of botulinum toxin. I am sure you have also heard of the adverse reactions other patients have experience after using botulinum toxin including Botox, Dysport and Myobloc. Although the reports of death mostly involve patients who were undergoing the experimental use of Botox for leg spacticity due to Cerebral Palsy (CP), I am sure the thought has crossed your mind about the safety of Botox for cosmetic reasons in general.

Injectable Fillers For Wrinkles and Augmentation

collagen.jpgI am not even going to pretend that I can write a single article that will cover all the injectable fillers available on the market today. There are TONS of fillers for facial injections you can choose from, but they all don’t measure up equally. I have tried my share of dermal fillers including Collagen, Restylane, Perlane, JuveDerm and Radiesse. They can be used for augmentation to contour, or simply to lessen the appearance of wrinkles. Wrinkle fillers abound in doctor’s offices everywhere, it’s a multimillion, if not billion, dollar market.

Body Hair Removal Options and Costs

hairremoval.jpgThere are people who appreciate body hair and there are people who do not. I am definitely on Team No Hair. I don’t like it on my own body and I don’t like chest hair, beards or back hair on my man. Although I do admit I find 1 to 3 day stubble on my man sexy. Too Hottt!

But this article isn’t about my facial hair preferences on men, it is about what to do with body hair if you don’t prefer it on yourself—regardless if you are a man or a woman. What options really work? How much do they cost, and for goodness’ sake, does it hurt?? Permanent hair removal is a long road to success, so let’s start gathering the basics in what you can do to achieve hairlessness fast.
