Strivectin-SD - No Comparison to Botox
I remember the hype revolving around this product years ago. It was being touted as the miracle for stretchmarks. I had received a free tube to review and began applying it liberally to some very slight stretchmarks I had. Weeks had gone by with nothing more than smoother skin, but only just after I had applied the product as it is pretty greasy in my opinion.
Pretty soon after I had read on the one forum that a few ladies had begun using it on their face. I felt I had some slight wrinkling around my eyes and forehead so I decided to give it a go. Within a few days I had noticed redness and some stinging after application. But I was determined. The redness soon subsided, but I still didn’t notice any results-even after 3 months. I started to wonder how the company could get away with such claims. Especially the ‘Better Than Botox’ comment. Considering Botox is my proverbial heroin, nothing beats it if you ask me. Plus, this topical, greasy cream increased the incidence of breakouts.
Now, to add a little positivity to the article. A few of the ladies on the forum, including a user who goes by ‘GlamourGirl’, swears by Strivectin. She uses it on her entire face without an increase in breakouts and says it diminishes wrinkles. I have normal to oily skin, leaning more towards normal now that I am older, and Strivectin is far too greasy for my comfort. However, if I felt it truly diminished wrinkles, I’d choose acne over wrinkly skin. It would be worth it to me.
Botox is an amazing weapon against the effects of facial aging. I cannot express enough the importance of prevention. Preventative measures include minimal sun exposure, Botox, a good skincare regimen including a high SPF sunblock, a healthy diet, plenty of water and no smoking. No where did the words Strivectin-SD come up written in stone.
Bottom line? I really wish it did work as well as the hype would have you believe it. I still can’t get over the amount of money it goes for in department store, $135! Not to mention there are new, specially-packaged creams and serums just for the eyes, neck and hands. Sorry, ladies, I just can’t buy into it.

I agree, Marianne... "Preventative measures include minimal sun exposure, Botox, a good skincare regimen including a high SPF sunblock, a healthy diet, plenty of water and no smoking." I would add, getting your beauty sleep. I work as a researcher/writer with lots of derms and plastic surgeons across the country, including one who specializes in everything from Botox to breast augmentation in st louis, and here's what I can tell you about how Strivectin can legally claim to be "Better than Botox." It's because they DON'T claim to be better. Rather, they ask a question, "Better than Botox?" and the courts have decided only the consumer can answer the question. I know, it's totally a legal loophole. Still, people try it (like you) and realize, no, it's not better than Botox.
