Holiday Beauty Tips - 12 days Of Christmas (Tip # 11)
On the eleventh day of Christmas my true love gave to me, a new outfit for my new post-diet body!.
Okay, so we didn’t drop 10 pounds in 10 days. But if you stuck to your salmon-greens-and-blueberries diet and stayed away from the sweets, you should have lost something. So what to wrap our svelte body in other than a slimming, holiday outfit? A NEW slimming, holiday outfit. Let’s go shopping!
- Consider your party destination and theme. Is it a black tie (my favorite!), semi-formal, or casual affair? Do you prefer a dress, a skirt, slacks, a suit, or jeans and a sweater? Determine what the affair calls for and then choose an outfit which flatters your own shape and size. Darker colors flatter larger figures. Even a black skirt or a pair of nice dark slacks with a crimson sweater can go a long way for every shape/size. It’s all about the accessories in the end.
- Footwear also depends upon your needs and destination. I can’t even believe I am saying this, but if you are going to be on your feet for more than 4 housrs, choose sensible shoes. Remember higher-priced designer shoes are far more comfortable than the cheapies. I kid you not. With the exception of Charles David. He should be strung up from a noose, while balanced on a stool and forced to wear a pair of his uncomfortable stilettos. I often wonder how many women have gone lame from wearing his shoes. I am convinced the man is a sadistic, woman-hating fetishist.
- Bring a nice coat. Don’t ruin an outfit with a Salvage hoodie or vintage jean jacket. What are you thinking?
Whatever outfit you choose, don’t feel guilty. You’ve been shopping for friends and family for over a month. Don’t feel badly about spending your hard-earned money on a new outfit for yourself. However, if you already have nice outfits in your closet that don’t get much wear, think about buying a coat or donating one of your own coats to a homeless shelter instead. It is a the season of giving afterall, and you don’t have to know the person to brighten their day.
Smile! Santa is on his way!
