Is Your Body "Beach Ready"?

For many coastal areas, beach season is already in full swing. However, we still have quite a bit of bikini weather left. For those of you past your twenties and a fondness for pasta (like me!) looking your body-best may be a challenge. Granted, you need a good three months to achieve a real body turnaround, but there are a few tricks to looking your best—fast.
Beauty Sleep: How Much Do You Really Need?
We’ve all done it…we’ve either stayed out partying way too long, or maybe innocently had a restless night tossing and turning, or simply didn’t have the time to get the rest we really needed because of a busy schedule. Regardless, I am sure we have all had a sleepless night or two. And how did we look the next day? Pretty awful, right?
When we aren’t well-rested it can take a huge toll on our bodies, whether it is simply dark circles and blood shot eyes or a more serious issue. The human body cannot do very well, for very long, without proper sleep. A few restless nights won’t kill you, but prolonged lack of sleep can affect our health, appearance and emotional state. We sleep for a reason!
Hidden Beauty Secrets: Are We Too Good For The Drugstore?
Are Drugstore finds really so bad? For the most part, no! When I run out of prescription, or specialty, skincare, I often run to the drugstore and pick up an old standby or two. You may feel that the more expensive a product, the better it works. Well, for some products, yes, this is the case. But you don’t have to go broke to stay beautiful—especially if you’re on a budget.
Anti-aging Supplements: Do They Work?
Although I am normally skeptical about supplementing [or overly-supplementing like most Americans do], there are some anti-aging supplements I do have faith in. I have had first hand experience with a few anti-aging type supplements which had positive affects on its users. But, I also have experience purchasing hundreds of dollars in supplements and having no discernible positive effects that I could tell. But does this mean they aren’t working?
Tattoo Removal: Read This Before Getting A Tattoo
I am not sure if any of you know this, but I have a couple of tattoos. The left shoulder has a Sak Yant for protection and good luck which was tattooed in the traditional method in by Arjan Noo Kanphai at his temple in Thailand. The one next to it was tattooed in a basement in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia and means a wild horse which can never be tamed. The kanji you see down my spine runs from my scalp to my lower back and is not a collective phrase, but rather a timeline of enlightenment. In other words, I get a symbol or two with each life lesson or significant event. Plus, I have a large ascending three-toed dragon on my lower back and the eye of Ra (which looks like a peregrine falcon’s eye) on my bikini area. I also have two others which are in the process of getting removed. Hence this article…
Body art is a form of self expression that one does not have to explain or justify to anyone. Our reasons are our own, and our regrets are ours to bear as well. So here is the obligatory think-hard-and-long-before-you-get-ink advice. While I only regret two, which is not bad for the amount I have, getting a tattoo removed takes 10 times as long and 20 times the money to get one. Although there are newer and better lasers, removal is not instantaneous and not without its risks and side effects. It most certainly is not without pain, either.
